INTRODUCTION TO THE GOVERNMENT OF CARMONT
The government of the Principality of Carmont operates under the authority of the Crown and in accordance with the Constitution and laws of the Principality. His Highness the Prince is the Sovereign and holds the supreme governmental authority of the State, exercising that authority through the institutions and officers of government established by law.
The Government is responsible for the administration of the Principality, the implementation of its laws and policies, and the conduct of the affairs of State. The Prince is assisted in these duties by the Council of State, Estates-General, Ministers and the various departments and offices of Government.

The Crown
The Crown
His Highness the Prince is the Sovereign of the Principality and the central authority of its Government. The Prince directs the affairs of State, appoints and presides over the Council of State. Government therefore operates under the authority of the Crown, subject to the Constitution and laws of Carmont.
The Council of State
The Council of State
The Council of State is the principal body through which the Government is organised and coordinated. It is chaired by the Prince and brings together the principal Ministers and other members of Government appointed by the Sovereign. The Council provides a forum for considering matters of State and coordinating the work of Government.
The Estates-General
The Estates-General
The Estates-General is the elected advisory body of the Principality of Carmont. It provides citizens with a recognised channel through which they may relay concerns, propose ideas and contribute to the development of the Principality. Members of the Estates-General may also draft and submit bills for consideration by the Prince. The Estates-General is advisory in nature, with its work ultimately submitted to the authority and consideration of the Prince.
